Musical Theater

This "triple threat" class will provide students with instruction in each of the three disciplines of contemporary musical theatre: dance, voice, and acting. Each three weeks of the month will be geared towards one of the three disciplines, with the last class of the month culminating in choreography and staging, to prepare a musical theatre style performance. Acting syllabus will be a combination of Stanislavski and Uta Hagen technique. Group vocal training is rooted in music theory, aural skills, and proper vocal/breath technique and body alignment for the musical theatre singer. Dance technique will supplement jazz technique classes and cover elements from classic musical theatre through to contemporary.
